Weather

September is almost the end of summer in Japan, and it is still quite hot and humid. In Kyoto, the temperature typically rises to 30 degrees or more in the daytime, and goes down to 15–20 degrees in the nighttime. Generally T-shirts or shirts are enough, but in some restaurants or shops the rooms are strongly air-conditioned, and you may feel you need one more warm cloth (jacket or something). The chances of rain is not quite high (compared to more rainy season in June), but still there are some, including occasional showers in the evening.

In addition to the above, special attention should be on typhoons. In September, many typhoons hit Japan. Participants should be aware of the most updated typhoon information during their travel, in order to check any cancels of flights or trains.
